Software maintenance is the modification of the software after delivery to correct fault, to improve performance, to extend module. The purpose of software maintenance is to preserve the value of software over the time.

रखरखाव -
सॉफ्टवेर मेंटेनेंस के अंतर्गत, डिलीवरी के पश्चात् सॉफ्टवेर में उत्पन्न होने वाली त्रुटियों को सुधारने, सॉफ्टवेर की कार्यक्षमता में वृद्धि करने एवं एक्सटेंड करने से सम्बंधित परिवर्तन किये जाते है। सॉफ्टवेर मेंटेनेंस का मुख्य उद्देश्य सॉफ्टवेर के मूल्यों को लम्बे समय तक सुरक्षित बनाये रखना होता है।
